Dolly Rebecca Parton has had as varied a career as anyone in show business, even as this career was originally rooted in country music. Born in 1946 in Tennessee, Parton was the fourth of twelve children born to poor farmers. She learned to play guitar and began singing as a youngster, getting on the radio and even on the Grand Ole Opry. She began her recorded output in 1958 with Goldband Records signing "Puppy Love". She was twelve years old. She married Carl Dean and signed with Monument Records in 1966 and she soon had a hit with "Dumb Blonde." Continue...
