In this documentary, a woman whose father died piloting a bomber over Europe is visited by Brokaw and shares family snapshots and a home movie of the father she never knew. Research into her father's fatal mission led her to survivors from his crew, and the camera follows as she meets elderly veterans who tell her firsthand of her father's heroism.
D-Day: A Leap Into History
Tom Brokaw's special marking the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. "Leap" features interviews with three members of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, who discuss their harrowing descent into enemy gunfire, their lifelong friendships and their special bonds with French villagers who greeted them as liberators and saved their lives.
