Backed by the Soviet Union, North Korea struck deep into South Korea in 1950, prompting action by the United Nations and the USA. President Harry Truman, ordered the US Army to supply munitions to the ROK and to evacuate American Citizens from South Korea. Truman then ordered the US Navy and Air Force to stem the DPRK advance. This action packed DVD, with historical footage and interviews with veterans of the Korean War, recounts the last days of the Korean War, including President Eisenhower's visit to Korea, the storied air war between the Red MiG fighters, America's early jets and the eventual peace talks, finally initiated on July 10, 1951, which would drag on for two years. For the remainder of the war, UN and American forces fought a holding action on the 38th Parallel with the North Koreans and their allies, the Red Chinese and it became, for many, the Forgotten War. Special extras on this disc include stories of American Prisoners of War, and interviews with Medal of Honor recipients, Robert Simanek and Thomas Hudner.
