Brady Hawkes (Kenny Rogers) is a high-rolling frontier gambler who has been summoned to Yuma, California, to rescue the son he never knew. Along the way Brady befriends Billy Montana (Bruce Boxleitner), a young Easterner who fancies himself a professional poker player. Brady teaches Billy a few lessons-about cards and also about life-and the two men end up forming a strong team.
On board a train to Yuma, the duo comes to the aid of Jennie (Lee Purcell), a lady with a questionable past who is being pursued by the unprincipled railroad baron Arthur Stobridge (Harold Gould). While trying to reach their individual goals, Brady and Billy find themselves playing high-stakes poker with Stobridge and slugging it out with tough outlaws in a barroom standoff.

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES
A big game of was starting in San Francisco, but the Gambler's number one priority was taking care of his son.
Brady Hawkes (Kenny Rogers), his son Jeremiah (Charles Fields) and Billy Montana (Bruce Boxleitner) are on a train bound for a high-stakes game in San Francisco when a gang of vicious outlaws stops the train.
Charles McCourt (Mitch Ryan) and his murderous gang are after gold being transported by railroad baron Arthur Stobridge (Harold Gould). When Stobridge informs McCourt that the gold is on its way by stagecoach to the town bank in Jubilee, McCourt takes young Jeremiah as a hostage and demands a $1 million ransom.
Brady and Billy embark on a quest to rescue Jeremiah before McCourt's gang reaches Jubilee, and they enlist the help of the beautiful bounty hunter Kate Muldoon (Linda Evans).

THE LEGEND CONTINUES
Brady Hawkes and Billy Montana are together again. This time, they team up to fight a corrupt government.
In this third installment of The Gambler series, Brady Hawkes (Kenny Rogers) and his partner Billy Montana (Bruce Boxleitner) meet up with the legendary Buffalo Bill (Jeffrey Jones) and his Wild West Show in Bismarck, Montana. They join Buffalo Bill in ameeting with Chief Sitting Bull (George American Horse) and discover that military and government officials are stealing cattle and also befriend Mary Collins (Linda Gray), a schoolteacher who works with Indian Children and is concerned about the government's treatment of the Sioux.
Finding themselves in several dangerous positions with both the Indians and the cavalry, Brady Hawkes and Billy Montana are at their best in this spectacular Western adventure, which features appearances by George Kennedy, Charles Durning and Dean Stockwell.
